Cary, N.C., (Feb. 25, 2010) — Chuck Norman, APR, executive vice president with S&A Cherokee, has been named Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce's chairman-elect for its Board of Directors. Norman's primary focus will be leading the chamber's membership development division, thus overseeing corporate giving, membership retention, membership recruitment and sponsorship development.

In April, Norman will be leading the chamber's first annual membership drive, which will consist of an eight-week campaign to gain new members and sponsorships to conduct programs throughout the year. Norman's work history includes serving as vice president of communication and governmental relations for the Cary Chamber.

"His past experience working for another chamber brings a great understanding of how we can improve within this division," said Scoop Green, executive director.

Norman has played a large influence in the business community through numerous leadership positions over the past several years, including the following: Board of Directors, SearStone; 2004-2006 president, Raleigh Public Relations Society; Board of Directors and 2010 president, North Carolina Chapter Public Relations Society of America; and Board of Directors, Cary MacGregor Rotary Club. Prior to accepting the position, Norman spent 2007 to 2009 acting as the treasurer for the chamber's Board of Directors and plans to take on the position of chairman in January 2011.

"I'm honored to have been voted chair-elect of the Holly Springs Chamber of Commerce," Norman said. "I'm excited to use my previous chamber experience to help grow the chamber, its programs and the economic base in the Town of Holly Springs."
