Cary, N.C., Feb. 13, 2009 – S&A Cherokee, a full-service communications company, has named Jon Parks as digital media manager. Parks previously held the title of electronic publishing manager with the company.

"Jon's new title better reflects the full range of digital marketing services that he oversees for our company," said S&A Cherokee President Ron Smith. "Jon has assembled a very talented staff and we expect this to be an area of tremendous growth both for our clients and our own media properties."

S&A Cherokee's full range of digital marketing services now includes Web site development, design and analytics; e-mail marketing; online advertising; social media; search engine marketing (SEM) and search engine optimization (SEO); and multimedia production (e.g., blogs, online video, podcasts, etc.).

"More clients are demanding digital marketing services because it provides a great degree of measurability and accountability," said Parks. "They can see exactly what they got for their marketing dollars."

Parks joined what was then Smith & Associates as an account executive in January 2006 and later transitioned into electronic publishing. He has a background in state and local government communications, beginning with the John Edwards Senate campaign, North Carolina Department of Transportation, the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles and Wake County Government.

Jon received his Bachelor of Science degree in political science and minor in communications from Appalachian State University in 1997. He also received his Master's degree in public administration from North Carolina State University in 2003. He presently sits on the Appalachian State University Board of Visitors and previously served as president of the Appalachian Alumni Association.
